Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said in a parliamentary question session on Wednesday that Italy will reopen its embassy in Tehran on Friday.
The statement comes after Iran and the United States reached an agreement to end the war in the Middle East, a memorandum that is expected to be signed on Friday in Switzerland.
The government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has declared that Italy is ready to participate in an international naval mission to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
