Vice President JD Vance and his wife, the second lady of the United States, Usha Vance, announced Tuesday that they are expecting their fourth child, a boy.

In a joint statement released on social media, the couple said that both Usha Vance and the baby are in good health and that the birth is expected in late July.

"Usha and the baby are doing well and we look forward to welcoming him into our family at the end of July," they said.

In their statement, the vice president and his wife expressed special gratitude for the medical staff who support them:

"During this exciting, yet difficult time, we are especially grateful to the military doctors who take excellent care of our family, as well as to the personnel who do so much so that we can serve our country while enjoying a beautiful life with our children."

The couple already have three children, and with the arrival of a fourth, the US vice president's family profile is further strengthened, just months after he took up his new duties.
