The United States has imposed another round of sanctions on Cuba, targeting six Cuban nationals and five entities based on the island. The news was announced by the US Treasury Department, which announced the new measures against individuals and companies linked to Cuban state structures.

Among those affected by the sanctions is Roberto Legra Sotolongo, Cuba's deputy minister of the Armed Forces. The list also includes a Cuban citizen living in China and another resident in Russia. In addition to the six individuals, the US measures also affect five companies based in Cuba, mainly related to the defense sector.

The Treasury Department has also imposed additional sanctions on two Cuban nationals who were previously sanctioned by US authorities. The decision comes as part of Washington's ongoing policy towards institutions and individuals that, according to US authorities, are linked to Cuba's security and defense structures.
