Three people have been killed during an airstrike carried out by the United States against a suspected drug trafficking ship in the Caribbean Sea.
According to data compiled by AFP based on official Washington statements, the total number of victims from this campaign in the eastern Pacific and Caribbean has reached at least 180.
The air operations began in September 2025 and are presented by the US as part of a "war" against drug cartels operating from Latin America to the US market. The administration of President Donald Trump has described some of these groups as "terrorist" organizations, often using the term "narco-terrorists".
