The US has completely ended its military presence in Syria.

This was stated in a statement by the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on the social network "X".

"The Syrian Foreign Ministry welcomes the transfer of military facilities that previously housed US forces in Damascus. The expansion of the Syrian state's authority in areas that were previously outside its control, including the northeastern and border regions, is the result of the Syrian government's ongoing efforts to unify the country. The completion of the transfer of these facilities also reflects the successful integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into national structures and the Syrian state's assumption of full responsibility for combating terrorism on its territory and countering regional threats," the statement said.

It was stated that Syria remains committed to advancing the policy of strengthening mutual relations with the United States, developing economic partnership, and expanding areas of cooperation in the interests of both countries.

US troops have been in Syria for almost 10 years. Washington has justified this mission with the need to fight terrorist groups in Syria.
