The Supreme Court rejected the appeal of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku and left in force the security measure "suspension from the exercise of functions" for the former senior official.
Balluku claimed that because he no longer exercises state functions, the suspension measure had no effect and therefore requested its repeal. However, the criminal panel decided not to accept the appeal.
The former deputy prime minister is being investigated for corruption, money laundering and abuse of road tenders. She is also banned from leaving the country. Meanwhile, the majority rejected SPAK's request for permission to arrest the former minister.
Balluku is under investigation for corruption, money laundering and tender abuse.
