Iran has launched the first wave of missiles under the leadership of the new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, according to a statement by Iranian state broadcaster.
According to state media, this is the "first wave of rockets" launched towards Israeli territories, in a development that marks a new escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting also published a photo of a missile bearing the slogan "Under your command, Seyyed Mojtaba."
