Just 11 years old, carrying a backpack and walking 6 kilometers in sub-zero temperatures and snow. This is what happened to a CHILD who lived in Vodo di Cadore (Belluno), who attends school in San Vito di Cadore, after being forced to get off the 30 Calalzo-Cortina bus because he did not have the 10 euro ticket, which cost for that route. The family filed a lawsuit for child abandonment. The child's grandmother, Chiara Balbinot, a lawyer from Padua, reported: "We filed a lawsuit and the child returned home with severe physical suffering, to the point that he is still ill."

At the beginning of the school year, his mother had purchased some 2.50 euro tickets, and after checking at the ticket office to determine their expiration date, she was told that they were valid. On Tuesday, the day after returning from school in the afternoon, the boy left shortly before 16:00 PM and went to the bus stop with two classmates. According to the family, the first bus did not stop, so they boarded the 16:40 PM bus. After boarding the bus, the child stamped his ticket and gave it to the driver, who allegedly asked him if he had a 10 euro ticket. When he said no, the driver allegedly told him to get off the bus. The minor asked for the ticket he had just used, but his request was denied. The child then said goodbye to his classmates and began the approximately six-kilometer walk from San Vito to Vodo, in temperatures of approximately minus three degrees Celsius and with darkness approaching.

Upon returning home, he told his mother, Sole Vatalaro, what had happened. She reported that her son had a body temperature of 35 degrees Celsius and was very tired. The family also filed an official complaint with Dolomiti Bus through customer service. During the phone call, they were informed that drivers are not allowed to accept cash from passengers. The Dolomiti Bus website specifies that for line 30, tickets can only be sold via the Dolomiti Bus app, the OpenMove platform and electronic payment on board with a POS terminal for the special day ticket. Cash sales by the driver are not allowed.
The cost of a ticket for the Calalzo-Cortina line has been set at 10 euros, regardless of the length of the journey, in accordance with the provisions introduced in preparation for the Milan and Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It remains to be clarified what measures the company will take in relation to this incident, if any. In the meantime, the event was followed by numerous reactions on the network.
