A powerful explosion has struck a nightclub in the city of Trujillo, causing panic among those present and leaving dozens injured. According to local media, the explosive device was thrown during a live concert by the Mexican band Amor Rebelde at the Dalí nightclub, located in the Víctor Larco Herrera neighborhood. According to the Regional Health Directorate of La Libertad, the explosion injured about 40 people, with five of them in critical condition in hospital. The explosion immediately interrupted the performance and caused chaos in the club's premises, as customers ran for the exits to escape.

Some of the injured spoke of moments of fear. A 26-year-old woman said she was out with friends when she suddenly saw an object fall and then the explosion. “Everything went blurry and my nose started bleeding,” she said. Another young woman in the middle of the hall said she initially thought it was a problem with the speakers, but then the explosion shattered windows and other objects, causing her injuries from shards of glass.

Authorities have arrested three suspects – two adults and a minor – who are suspected of being behind the attack. Investigators are investigating the possibility that the incident may be linked to extortion cases by criminal organizations operating in the La Libertad area. The Dalí nightclub has been the subject of incidents before. Two weeks ago, during Valentine's Day celebrations, a 16-year-old threw tear gas into the club's premises, for which he was later arrested and admitted that he had been paid to carry out the attack. Authorities suspect that the Los Pulpos criminal organization may be behind these events.
