A small plane crashed Monday morning in Los Angeles, United States, after hitting a power pole and then overturning, ending up in the parking lot of a parts store.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the pilot — a man in his 70s — was transported to the hospital in critical condition. He was the only person on board and no other injuries were reported.
The incident occurred near Whiteman Airport. Footage from the crash site showed witnesses trying to help the pilot, while firefighters worked to cover a fuel leak with gravel near the wreckage.
In a statement, the Whiteman Airport Coalition said the plane was being rented by the pilot at the time of the accident.
