A small fire broke out on a Turkish Airlines plane after it landed in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, forcing authorities to close the airport for about an hour until the flames were brought under control.
According to Nepalese civil aviation authorities, the fire broke out in the right rear landing gear of the Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which had arrived in Kathmandu from Istanbul.
There were 277 passengers and 11 crew members on board, who managed to disembark the plane safely.
The news was confirmed to Reuters by the spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Gyanendra Bhull, who announced that the situation was quickly brought under control and there were no injuries.
