The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, has expressed concern about the repression of protests in Iran, which has left more than 2 dead.

"They must stop killing peaceful protesters and it is unacceptable to label protesters as 'terrorists' to justify violence against them," he said in a statement.
He also adds that Iranian citizens have the right to protest and be heard for all their concerns.
"Iranians have the right to demonstrate peacefully. Their suffering should be heard and taken into account and should not be exploited by anyone."

Volker Türk called on the Iranian authorities "to immediately cease all forms of violence and repression against peaceful protesters and restore access to the internet and telecommunications services."

While demanding that those responsible be brought to justice for the violence used.
