The Chairwoman of the Committee for Culture, Tourism and Diaspora, Ina Zhupa, has reacted from Vlora to the depreciated condition of the National Museum of Independence.

Publishing images from the historic building, Zhupa denounced the cracks in the walls and the risk of further degradation, up to and including the collapse of one of the most important symbols of national identity.

She called on the Ministry of Tourism and Culture to immediately begin the restoration of the museum, so that during the tourist season Albania can be presented with dignity to citizens and foreign visitors.

Full reaction:
I am located in the city of Vlora, behind me is the National Museum of Independence. A national symbol of Albanian identity, Albanian history.

As you can see, unfortunately this museum has suffered cracks everywhere along its walls, the balcony is completely inaccessible and unvisitable by residents and is at risk of collapse.

This is not the face of the Albanian state, this is not the dignity that Albanians should have when presenting themselves, but also with the tourists who come.

So today from Vlora I call on the Ministry of Tourism and Culture to immediately begin the restoration of this historic building, to invest the right money, to employ the right people so that during the tourist season we can have dignity in the most important symbol of national identity.
