The group of five people who defrauded a businessman from Shkodra, three of whom have been arrested, are suspected of being part of the group of the most wanted fraudster, Florian Gjergji.

Journalist Xhenila Kodra reports for BalkanWeb that on Sunday, police arrested Krenar Toromeni, Ilia Gjini and Artur Lecin. According to the investigation, they contacted the businessman through the Viber application, using an unregistered number, and introduced themselves as close friends of Tonin Marinaj, the mayor of the Malësi e Madhe Municipality.

The arrested men demanded 40 euros from the businessman, claiming that they would hand him over to Marinaj and that the money would be returned to him within a few days. According to the businessman's statement, he gave them the money in good faith.

In the evening, after contacting Tonin Marinaj himself to ask if he had received the money, the businessman realized that he had fallen prey to fraud. He subsequently filed a police report, leading to the launch of an investigation and the arrest of three people.
