"Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard remained packed today, on the 23rd day of the massive nationwide protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government cabinet.

One of the citizens who spoke before the crowd emphasized the urgent need for a new social contract and a change in the electoral system, demanding that decision-making be returned to the sovereign through referendums.

"We have expressed our demands, demanding the non-negotiable resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. We are not here to form a political party. We are to demand a new social contract of citizens with the state, where it is not 140 deputies who decide on our destinies, it is not those deputies with closed lists who decide for us, but we have the right to decide on our destinies. There will also be experts who will give their opinions on legally correct demands. The Constitution of Albania recognizes the referendum, but these people have manipulated the laws and we will change this from this square!", she declared.

The protester further made a stern appeal to all those who attempt to disrupt the spirit of the rally, explaining that the cause is national and transcends party, religious or regional divisions.

"Every day that there will be a protest, you will be the one who decides. Your voice will be heard until the end and there will be no one to negotiate behind your back. I also have a call for those who are trying to divide the protest: This protest goes beyond political and religious beliefs or regional divisions. We are here for Albania! I call on all those who have heard a misinterpreted statement, that we have no religious or regional divisions. We are all together here, beyond all the words that try to divide us. We are not here for international issues, but to clean our house, Albania! We must be more and more united every day. Rama resigns!", she concluded.
