On the 74th consecutive day of protests against Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government cabinet, speeches from the podium in front of the Prime Minister's Office building continued with strong messages from social activists.
Activist Sidorela Vatnikaj also joined the podium, denouncing the painful emigration of young people and the pressure of the system on honest citizens.
The activist focused on the sacrifices of the younger generation to leave the country, directly accusing the majority's policies of damaging the image and future of youth:
"Our young people risked their lives on dinghies and trucks to emigrate because life in Albania was impossible for them. Edi Rama's government, which criminalized Albania, also attempted to criminalize Albanian youth."
Vatnikaj further articulated the essential demand of the civic movement to build a society with values and dignity:
"We have a basic demand: we want to live in a normal Albania where not being a criminal is not a shame, where choosing to live in your country despite not wanting to serve the autocracy of Edi Rama and his system is not a shame! We want to build a normal Albania where honest work makes you live with your head held high and not be exploited for hours at work for a basic life. Mr. Prime Minister, you are not a new politician. You are not bothered by your clothes or tired jokes. It is time for you to leave and for justice to investigate you as one of the most corrupt politicians of this system!"
