As citizens and activists have been protesting in front of the Prime Minister's Office for six consecutive days, demanding his resignation and the halting of the Zvërnec project, Edi Rama commented on the developments from Vlora during a brief conversation with an Italian journalist. Asked if the protests could affect foreign investors and the business climate in the country, Rama replied that Albania remains a democratic country where life and work continue normally.

"Albania is a democratic country. Life goes on, work goes on," he said.

During the conversation, the prime minister was also asked about his relations with Western leaders and whether he is being too submissive to them. Rama responded to the question with irony, stating: "I kneel before Meloni."

When asked if the same applies to US President Donald Trump, the head of government replied: "Have you ever seen me kneel? No."
