The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, during the meeting of the DP parliamentary group accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of acting for personal interests and to escape justice. According to Berisha, Rama is aligning Albania with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Serbia, only to protect himself from the law and to hide, according to him, affairs with public funds and assets.

"Rama aligns the country with Vučić and Serbia only to escape the law, for the thefts he has committed and for personal interests," Berisha said.

He called on citizens to gather in Tirana on March 22 to protest against the government. “I invite every Albanian citizen to flock to Tirana on March 22 to give the most deserved response to this organization headed by Edi Rama, which has illegal interests with the funds and assets of Albanians,” declared the leader of the Democratic Party.

Berisha also said that the opposition is in a critical situation in Parliament and that it will continue to intensify requests, suggestions and amendments in defense of the public interest. According to him, the majority is trying to block parliamentary proceedings by repeatedly closing sessions.

"They have found a way to close the Parliament every 15 minutes. But we will do everything to turn the Parliament into a platform for their complete discrediting, as they deserve," Berisha said. He added that opposition MPs will also continue to hold field meetings with citizens to give, according to him, the appropriate response to "this anti-Albanian stance."
