Two Police operations have been finalized in Fier, leading to the seizure of an automatic firearm, combat ammunition and a luxury vehicle.
As part of Operation No Guns 5, officers arrested a 66-year-old man suspected of possessing a firearm in his apartment. During a search of the apartment, police found an automatic rifle and a magazine with 29 rounds of ammunition.
Citizen Rexhep Mehmeti was arrested as part of the "No Guns 5" operation.
Meanwhile, within the framework of checks on luxury vehicles, the Police services stopped a “Benz” type vehicle for inspection. The checks showed that the vehicle, produced in recent years, was trafficked. In this case, the 26-year-old who was using the vehicle was prosecuted at large for the criminal offense of “Trafficking in motor vehicles”.

The services of the Fier Police Commissariat, following intensified controls to identify and crack down on cases of illegal possession of weapons, based also on information obtained during operations regarding a citizen suspected of possessing firearms in his apartment, have finalized the police operation codenamed "No Guns 5".
As part of this operation, a 66-year-old Macedonian citizen, resident of Fier, was caught red-handed and placed in handcuffs.
During the search of this citizen's apartment, the Police services found and seized, as material evidence, an automatic firearm and a magazine with 29 bullets.
Meanwhile, the Traffic Investigation Section at the Fier Police Department, as part of the operation to verify the source of income for the purchase of luxury vehicles, stopped a "Benz" type vehicle for verification.
During the verifications, the vehicle, manufactured in recent years, was declared wanted by Interpol Manchester.
In this case, citizen ED, 26 years old, resident of Mallakastër, was prosecuted for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in motor vehicles".
Operations continue to crack down on criminal activities and identify cases of illegal possession of weapons and trafficking in motor vehicles.
The procedural materials were referred to the Fier Prosecutor's Office for further action.
