The 21st week of the First Category championship took place over the weekend.
The championship leaders, Skënderbeu, were stopped on the move from Korabi, with the challenge held at the "Korabi" stadium ending in a goalless draw. A draw that keeps the Korça team at the top of the standings, but narrows the gap with the followers.
Laçi made the most of this week, getting an important victory in the away match against Lushnja. The 1-0 success at the “Roza Haxhiu” stadium allows the team from Kurbina to get significantly closer to the leaders, bringing the difference to only 3 points.
Pogradec was stopped in Fier by Apolonia, in a spectacular match that ended in a 2-2 draw, while Kastrioti recorded a valuable victory against Kukës, triumphing 2-1 in Saturday's meeting.
On Sunday, the week ended with two draws. Burreli and Iliria drew 1-1, while the match between Besa and AF Luftëtari ended with the same result.
After the end of week 21, Skënderbeu leads the standings with 48 points, Laçi follows with 45 points, while Pogradec holds third place with 40 points. The race for the top spot remains open and is becoming more competitive every week.
