Former Prime Minister of Kosovo and leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has warned of the dangers that, according to him, threaten Kosovo in the event of international isolation and a lack of security guarantees.

Invited to the show "Oponencje" on News24Haradinaj said that any weakening of relations with international partners creates space for Serbia to benefit, considering this a common risk for the region.

"In the event of our international isolation or lack of guarantees, then Serbia benefits and these are a common risk," he said.

According to Haradinaj, institutions in Serbia, including the Academy of Sciences, have developed strategies that, according to him, aim to incite divisions between Kosovo and its security allies.

"They have elaborated and discussed and are aiding animosity between Kosovo and our security allies. They feed it, incite it, spread it and keep it alive through every form of communication, including social networks," Haradinaj declared.

He stressed that Kosovo should not allow mistakes in managing relations with international partners, underlining the importance of close cooperation with security allies.

"Kosovo does not have the luxury of any mismanagement of security allies, because we have a 400 kilometer land border with Serbia and we have enemy forces opposite," he said.

Haradinaj also warned that any wrong decision or populist trend could have serious consequences for the country's security and regional stability.

"Every mismanagement, every populist tendency costs us security, and the consequences will not only be suffered by Kosovo, but by everyone," he concluded.
