After more than a decade of operating on mobile phones, WhatsApp is also moving to smartwatches. Meta's platform was officially introduced on the Apple Watch on November 4, allowing users to read and send messages from the watch. They can also send and receive voice messages simply by speaking into their wrist. They can react with "emoji" as well as view images or "stickers."
Messages and calls remain secured by two-way encryption. According to WhatsApp, the user experience will be as good as on mobile. “We will bring even more useful features to Apple Watch users in the future,” the platform said.
Earlier this year, WhatsApp was also brought to the iPad as one of the "biggest requests." To use the app on your smartwatch, it must be an Apple Watch Series 4 or later running watchOS 10.
