Italian Carabinieri have arrested four people suspected of being the perpetrators of the explosive attack on investigative journalist Sigfrido Ranucci, executing precautionary measures on charges related to possession of explosives and damage to property, aggravated by the use of mafia methods.
The attack took place on the evening of October 16, 2025 in Pomezia, near Rome, when an explosive device was placed and detonated in front of the gate of the journalist's apartment. The explosion destroyed two of Ranucci's vehicles, which were parked on the street, and damaged the property's perimeter wall.
According to Italian authorities, investigations are still underway to identify the people suspected of ordering the attack, while the organized crime trail remains one of the main lines of investigation.
