The women's national team is ready for the final match of the 2027 World Cup qualifying campaign, against Montenegro, which will be played tomorrow at 19:00 at the "Loro Boriçi" stadium in Shkodër. After the valuable draw against the Czech Republic, the red and black girls aim to close this qualifying edition with another positive performance in front of the Albanian fans.
On the eve of the challenge, in a statement to fshf.org, coach Armir Grima spoke about the team's situation, the objectives for tomorrow's match and the importance of the support of the Shkodra fans.
The team's state before the match with Montenegro – When it comes after a good result, I believe that the psychological state of the team is also very good. It is important to maintain the rhythm, desire and character that we showed in the match with the Czech Republic, so that tomorrow we can successfully close these qualifiers. The team has worked well and the girls have made a good performance throughout the campaign. Maybe we could have gotten something more, but if we successfully close tomorrow's match, everything else will be a plus for the team.
How much does the positive result against the Czech Republic affect the team's performance tomorrow? – It affects a lot in the psychological aspect, but tomorrow's match is a different story. We will enter the field to win and this is our objective. It is not just a personal desire of mine, but it is something that I see every day in the girls, in training, in the commitment and desire they show on the field. We want to close these qualifiers successfully and with a well-deserved victory, because these girls deserve a lot for everything they have given during this period.
Message to the Shkodra fans – I believe that the Shkodra fans do not need special calls, it is enough to inform them of the match schedule. I am convinced that, just as they have always supported us, they will be by the team this time too. Their support has been continuous and very important for these girls. Tomorrow we need their presence in the stadium more than ever. The kindness, energy and support of the fans give us additional strength and I hope that in the end we will make them proud with a positive result against Montenegro.
