South Korea starts the World Cup with a win. In the Group A match, held in Guadalajara, the Asian representative defeated the Czech Republic with a score of 2-1, joining Mexico at the top of the group with three points.
After a first half dominated by the Koreans, it was the Czechs who took the lead in the 59th minute through Krejci, who headed in a cross from the right. South Korea's response was immediate: Hwang In-beom equalized in the 67th minute with a brilliant individual move, while in the 80th minute Oh Hyeon-gyu scored the winning goal after an assist from Hwang himself.
The Czech Republic also had a goal disallowed for offside, while goalkeeper Kim ultimately saved the game with a crucial save. South Korea thus secured their first three points and look forward to their next challenge against Mexico with optimism.
