The Tirana Traffic Police Commissariat has announced that during the last week, 325 administrative measures have been imposed and 31 criminal proceedings have been initiated against drivers who have violated road traffic rules.
According to the official announcement, the findings are the result of intensified monitoring on all axes of the capital, with an increased presence of Traffic Police services and the use of logistical equipment.
The objective of the action plan is to prevent accidents with consequences for the life and health of road users, as well as to avoid traffic jams and chaos.
Specifically, during the checks:
120 measures have been imposed for failing to respect traffic rules;
98 vehicles were towed for obstructing or blocking traffic due to improper stopping and parking;
64 measures have been imposed for exceeding the permitted speed limits;
43 measures have been imposed for driving under the influence of alcohol.
