The draft law on excise and national taxes is being discussed in the Assembly. The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in his speech focused on the fact that Prime Minister Edi Rama continues to reject interpellations called by the opposition, while stating that the Balluku issue has put a knife in the integration process in the country.
Berisha accused the head of the government, Rama, of being the author of the annexation and annihilation of the Parliament.
He further underlined that with the vote that the Socialist Party gave to protect former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, it 'stabbed the European integration process in the back'.
"There is no more cynical act against the 30-40% of Albanians who live by the sweat of their brow. Come here after you have removed the oil subsidy for farmers at the height of the oil crisis. There is no normal person in the world who could imagine such a decision. He does not come to parliament because he is afraid. He is terrified and does not know what he is doing. Come here and do this shameful act. For the poorest villagers in Europe, this is a policy of depopulation. It is an anti-Albanian policy, the farmer of North Macedonia gets oil for 1 thousand lek. The country has the highest tax in the world... In Albania, oil at the pump is 2.2 euros. The salary in Germany is higher than in Albania, these are cynical acts. He does not dare to come here and you have no reason to defend him. He refuses every interpellation. Madam Chairwoman of the session, the greatest absurdity is ignoring the report of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament. Each of you should understand that with that vote The crime that has been committed against Balluk has stabbed the Albanians' European integration process in the back. The media reports that over 300 interventions have been made... It starts and ends as if the opposition had written it, and with its true denunciations. You saw what is said about Balluk who politically defended her immunity. You read it, 'lubists'. 'Lubi's' thefts destroy integration", he said.
