Road safety remains the focus of the State Police's priorities.

From the field, the General Director of the State Police, Chief Madhor Skender Hita, appealed for respect for traffic rules, emphasizing that: "A respected rule is one more life saved."

Given the numerous violations recorded by intelligent vehicles, violations that pose a potential risk to the safety of road users, the General Director of the State Police inspected on-site the measures being applied by the Traffic Police to prevent accidents.

During the inspection, the Director of the Traffic Police, First Director Perlat Vatoci, informed the Director General about the dynamics of the Traffic Police's field work, using intelligent tools for monitoring.

We are deployed on the road axis, on the main interurban road "Rrogozhinë-Durrës". It is an intelligent vehicle that automatically measures speed. We also have others throughout the country, similar ones, that are deployed on the main axes of the country, on the National Road, but also on other main road axes, that identify any vehicle that exceeds the speed limits.

It is necessary that we continuously operate with these intelligent tools in the daily dynamics of work.

The General Director, Skender Hita, requested intensification of measures and made an appeal to road users:

"Road safety remains a priority for the State Police and, as you can see, we have intelligent vehicles deployed on the roads, in order to make it possible to identify all violations and problems that we encounter in our daily lives.

The Traffic Police is determined to record all violations with intelligent tools, with those that we have in use, such as Poliscani, or other tools, radars and drones. All these intelligent tools that we have in use will make it possible to punish violators for all violations they commit on main and interurban roads.

Throughout this week, smart vehicles have imposed 1.100 administrative measures for speeding violations, ranging up to 230 km/h.

Meanwhile, during one year, throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania, there are 1.075 drivers whose driving licenses have been revoked, after their driving license points have run out.

At the same time, we also have 1.060 cases processed for not having a driving license. These are truly alarming figures and make us turn our attention and main focus to road safety.

Soon, cameras will also be put into operation at the National Road Traffic Monitoring Center, which will be integrated into the Police system and, in this way, we will have a more accurate control and recording of all violations and all problems that we will encounter on the main interurban roads.

It is not our focus to just identify violations, our focus is to raise awareness among citizens, prevent these road violations, and avoid fatal accidents.

We appeal to all drivers not to use mobile phones, not to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and not to exceed speed limits, as speed kills.
