The draw for the 2026-2027 Abissnet Superiore championship calendar was made today at the AFF premises. The competition starts immediately with two major challenges, such as Egnatia-Tirana and Partizani-Teuta.
The championship features 10 teams, with Skënderbeu and Laçi returning, taking the place of Flamurtari and Bylis. Defending champion Egnatia, Elbasani, Vllaznia, Dinamo, Partizani, Tirana, Vora and Teuta complete the 10-team Abissnet Superiore, which starts on August 22 and ends on May 9.
The new season in the Albanian football elite comes with a different format than in recent years. There will no longer be a "Final 4", but three championship phases and then Play off and Play out. After the first 3 phases, the points are halved and the 6 teams ranked in the first places go to the Play off for the championship title.
The other teams go to the Play out, where they play to avoid relegation. Only the 10th place team is relegated, the 9th place team plays in the Play out final with a team from the First Category.
Tirana and Partizan will have the opportunity to play at the “Air Albania” stadium, while Dinamo will play at the “Elbasan Arena”. The derby between Tirana and Partizan, the match of most interest to the fans, will take place in the 6th week of the championship.
