A fatal accident was recorded this Tuesday morning at the Port of Durres.
According to preliminary information from the Police, the incident occurred in the square in front of the scanner, where citizen NM, 49 years old, resident of Berat, driving a truck, is suspected of accidentally hitting citizen N. Sh., 62 years old, resident of Kosovo.
It is learned that the 62-year-old, driver of another truck, was walking to submit his vehicle's documentation to be scanned when he was hit by the truck.
As a result of the collision, he died at the scene.
The truck driver has been escorted to the police station, while procedural actions are being taken against him.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues its work to fully clarify the circumstances and causes of the accident.
