Former MP Ervin Salianji has accused DP leader Sali Berisha of the opposition's decision to abandon the Assembly proceedings at the moment when Prime Minister Edi Rama was arriving in the hall.
According to Salianj, this action damages the role of the opposition and distances it from the institutional confrontation with the government at an important political moment.
In a reaction on social media, Salianji states that Berisha's move is a result of what he calls co-government between the leader of the DP and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
"It is no coincidence that more and more democrats and citizens are demanding his removal, considering him part of the same co-government with Edi Rama. In cooperation with each other, they are desperately seeking Rama every day when Rama is absent, and while he comes to parliament, Berisha abandons him with a theater that everyone has now understood!", says Salianji.
Salianj's reaction
Sali Berisha committed another act of betrayal today against the democrats and the opposition. It is no coincidence that more and more democrats and citizens are demanding his removal, considering him part of the same co-government with Edi Rama. In cooperation with each other, he is desperately seeking Rama every day when Rama is absent, and while he comes to parliament, Berisha abandons him with a theater that everyone has now understood!
At a time when citizens have risen up against the government and Albania expects a strong parliamentary showdown with Rama, Berisha chooses to engage in political theater in the morning, just to pave the way and not to put the prime minister in difficulty during his appearance in the session.
The Rama-Berisha regime is choking democracy, annihilating the real opposition, and co-ruling to the detriment of the public interest. Albanians deserve a real alternative, not a staged conflict that ultimately serves to keep the same system in power.
