The next meeting of the Vlora Municipal Council is canceled. A meeting that started with debates from the beginning and ended as such. The meeting of the Municipal Council was canceled because not enough votes were collected to approve the agenda. According to the opposition councilors, the agenda had many points for discussion, 21 specified points and also various points. This led to discussions in the hall regarding the high flow of points for discussion on the agenda.

Elpiniqi Merkuri, president of the Vlora Municipal Council, after discussions among the councilors, put the agenda to a vote. From the voting process, 25 votes in favor of the agenda were counted, which caused this agenda not to pass, being “burned” by one vote. According to the legislation in force, for an agenda to pass, it must have at least 50%+1 vote of the number of members of the Municipal Council, more specifically 26 votes in total.

After the vote, the opposition has begun to leave the Municipal Council hall. Atird Hoxha, the head of the opposition councilors, explains why the agenda was canceled and why they left the hall. Tomorrow at 9 am it has been decided that the Municipal Council will meet again to vote on the passage of the economic aid, while the date of the next meeting of the Municipal Council is expected to be determined.
