Ms. Xhevahire Arapi, a resident of the city of Durrës, has reported on the Tak-Fak show on News 24 a problematic situation with a neighbor, who has built an illegal building on the ground floor of her apartment, next to the balcony wall. She has stated that she witnessed the illegal construction, standing at the window at the moment when part of the building collapsed.
According to Xhevahira, a representative of the authorities, whom she describes as a deputy director, intervened and asked the neighbor for the construction documents, but the latter claimed that he did not have them at that moment. After that, the authorities' assistance was focused on requesting the demolition of the part of the construction that did not have a permit, while for the rest of the building, the neighbor requested to keep it.
"The deputy director demolished part of the house, I was at the window when it happened and asked him for the documents. The neighbor said he didn't have them. He requested the demolition of part of the building, while he asked to take the rest," she said.
Meanwhile, the Director of IKMT Durrës, Dorian Mema, has stated that they are currently awaiting a response from the State Cadastre Agency (ASHK) regarding the classification of the facility.
According to Mema, further information will depend on the response from ASHK, and this will determine the next steps.
He emphasized that the response from the ASHK is crucial in determining how to proceed further and whether there will be any opportunity to legalize the facility, if possible, or whether intervention will be made to demolish the illegal construction.
"We are aware of the problem. We are waiting for a response from the ASHK on the classification of the facility and rather we should have a request," he said.
