Suela Mehdini, representative of the Milan Diaspora at the lunch program in News24, with Ola Bruko, stated that the revolt against the government was sparked by the Zvërnec incident, where a citizen was dragged away after his property was surrounded and occupied.
Mehdini said that the Diaspora has given impact to the protest in Tirana, adding that next month they will address in the European Parliament the problems raised by activists during 76 days of mass protests.
"What we saw in Zvërnec shocked us, made us stand up in Milan and not only. The diaspora protests have not only had a significant impact on the protests in Tirana, but we have also set an example for the world. We have protested in several squares. We have set an example and culture," she said.
"We have requested a meeting at the European Parliament. We have also held an online meeting with MEPs. We will have a meeting in early September, a representation of the Milanese diaspora will go. We will address the real problems raised by the protesters there," Mehdini added.
