Analyst Ergys Mërtiri in an interview on "News24", commented on Prime Minister Edi Rama's stance on the judiciary after the recent clashes over salaries.

He emphasized that Rama cannot accept having an independent government, while emphasizing that the prime minister wants to remove the reference.

Regarding the Balluku case, Mërtiri said that the Constitutional Court is playing a very negative role. He also stressed that the Constitutional Court should intervene to prevent Rama from exerting pressure.

"The way Rama presents it is populist and manipulative. It is not a problem that Rama is losing several million euros, or that the judiciary is not doing justice to citizens. But he is busy subjugating the judiciary. Rama is playing games with justice. In fact, Rama has no business how much a judge's salary should be... If it comes to the state budget, there are so many luxurious expenses that go into the wrong pockets, the salaries of the AKSHI alone are staggering, they have extorted us. The highest-paid institution in this country has stolen. We have increased the salaries of the AKSHI that abuses to scandalous figures. Yes, Rama is dealing with the salaries of an independent power whose salaries are regulated by law. But Rama wants to remove the reference, and he wants to reduce the salaries to put pressure on them. The Constitutional Court has the power to do its duty to prevent the prime minister from interfering in another power, which is the judiciary. By preventing the judiciary from taking the measure, it is the prime minister who is obstructing it. And the Constitutional Court should intervene to prevent it. But in the deep absence of an increase in the level of duty he has, but it helps Rama to gain time. Rama drags the parliament and the Constitutional Court drags its decision, the deadline that the parliament has for its duty is 3 months. The parliament should lift his immunity. It is not the first time that these people do not implement court decisions. The judiciary and the prosecution are there to investigate and keep the government in check and when it makes a mistake, it punishes it.
