Activist Edison Lika, speaking from the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, stated that a part of the diaspora will join the protest in Tirana on August 14-16. "The diaspora will be with us in the square from August 14-16. Today we are in the middle of August, in the middle of the heat, but more united than ever," said Lika.

He said that the protesters oppose some of the government's policies and initiatives, citing the mountain package and the law on protected areas. "We are not in favor of the Mountain Package, the law on protected areas, as we are for the protection of our country. We are not in favor of a government that expels its citizens," the activist declared. Lika stressed that the diaspora is ready to return to Albania whenever the country needs it.

"This diaspora is ready to return to our country, whenever the country needs it. We are here for all those who want to return and those who want to leave. Leaving is not an alternative, but resistance," he said.

According to him, for years, decisions about the lives and future of Albanians have been made by a group of politicians, but now citizens are seeking to take their own destiny into their own hands. “For years, we have left it in the hands of some of our shameless politicians, who have decided for us where to live, where to work and where to emigrate. But not anymore! Albanians have taken their destiny into their own hands,” said Lika. In the end, the activist described the civic movement as a process of change, declaring: “It is not for nothing that we say that Albania is making a revolution!”
