The National Food Authority (AKU) has concluded that the inorganic fertilizer product UREA marketed in Albania complies with legal standards and the content declared on the label, after a series of controls and analyzes carried out throughout the country.
According to the NFA, during inspections at entities dealing with the import, storage and marketing of the product, samples were taken, which were analyzed by the laboratory of the Agricultural Technology Transfer Center.
"Based on the results of the analyses, the percentage of nitrogen in these products was consistent with the percentage declared on the label, as well as the physical indicators of shape, content and color according to the requirements of the legislation in force," the NFA statement said.
After the publication of these results, the company AgroBlend Group, one of the main importers and traders of the UREA product in the country, also reacted.
According to AgroBlend, all analyses have confirmed that the UREA product imported and marketed by it contains a minimum of 46% nitrogen, in accordance with the manufacturer's labeling and analyses.
The company says that the official results refute the claims and declares that it is preparing a lawsuit for damages, defamation and speculation initiated by the competition.
"The results of the analyses speak for themselves. The integrity and reputation of our company have been seriously damaged and the law firm is preparing the relevant lawsuit," the statement from AgroBlend's board of directors reads.
