TIRANA- Socialist Party MP Alfred Peza calls the entire story circulating in the media regarding his wealth politically fabricated. Speaking on "Top Story", he implied that the attack originated from the Democratic Party to divert attention from the parliamentary investigation into the CEZ affair. That is why, according to him, the news about his wife's purchase of shares in a second-tier bank worth 1 billion lek was "manufactured".
"It's been about 10 days since everyone has been talking about me except me, now I would like to explain my personal story from A to Z, the issue was not simple as news portals, but it turned into a political attack by the DP. A 0 has confused the whole story. These days there is a big noise again with millions, such as the investigation into CEZ, where a relative of the Berisha Government has withdrawn 7 million euros in cash from a bank", he said. He called this attack by the opposition "political reciprocity".
"There is a political reciprocity in my attack. The reciprocity was let's invent a parallel story on the side of the majority that also talks about millions and political people and the story of Alfred Peza was found," said the SP MP, adding that the initial article about his wealth intentionally reflected some inaccuracies.
Then Peza added that 1/3 of his wealth is from bank interests. "331 million profits from interests in my 15-year history in a bank. 1/3 of my wealth that is rumored, came only from bank interests by depositing from time to time. These are all my family savings. Interest rates have been high. I have 100 million lek only in the last 20 months of my career in the media. In addition, the media has different ways of income, there is a basic salary, there are royalties, bonuses and advertising percentages", he said.
On the other hand, Peza was also asked about the truth of the declaration of the payment of 80 thousand new lek during the time he worked at "Ora News". "Regarding the payment of 80 thousand new lek at 'Ora News', a court process was conducted to recover the contribution that I owed to my former family. At that time, I was asked for a salary certificate from the court. My ex-wife also said this. It was a salary certificate from 6 years ago. This has been clarified. At that time, the salary was that much but the payment was not because the payment is not only the salary, but there is a percentage from advertising, royalties, bonuses, etc. ", said Peza.
Asked whether he may have committed a "foul" in this whole story and his case could end with an investigation for tax evasion, Peza ruled out such a possibility.
Peza returned to the alleged argument of a political attack on him by the opposition, adding that "it is of the same technology as today's opposition targets people. I knew before I entered politics that my work in the media would be investigated. As for the divorce, I don't have to answer to it. It was used so badly, so dirty. The DP did this with Edi Rama. When he became mayor, what didn't they tell them, that he accused the father of paternity of the son, etc. And my story from a few years ago was used now. That relationship was broken in May 1997. This year, in August, my current wife and I celebrate our 20th anniversary together," he claimed.
Also, Peza, in an open confession, emphasized that the two children from his second marriage were unaware that he had had another personal history and that he had divorced years ago. Peza said that his daughter learned the story of the divorce through chronicles and flashbacks on TV. While the son through the mockery of his friends.
"I have a daughter and a son, 15-16 years old. What happened is a monstrosity. They did it to Rama, Ruç, Arta Dade, Balla. Whoever comes before the DP. They use every kind of attack from A to Z. They desecrate even memories. And they have nothing to do with my political commitment, they have happened to our entire generation, some more and some less. I thank all those silent Albanians who did not attack me. But that is my story. I suffer. Good or bad, it is my story. I thought that when my children grew up a little, they would understand that life also has divorces, unions and separations. It would be easier. The son comes home from school one day, my wife is strong. 'Mom, that so-and-so Xi, he is a complete fool, he said to me: "How could daddy leave you without bread'. Mirela could not stand it. We took the son and went out for lunch and told him. We also waited for the daughter, but she didn't come. She had been in the cafeteria with her friends, taking selfies. When she saw the subtitles on a TV: 'Alfred Peza's ex-wife goes to the prosecutor's office'. She was touched. Her friends told her what was wrong, she said 'my molar hurts'. When she comes home, we told her. Politics should have spared this story for my children", - said Peza.
