One thing should not be left uncommented with the appropriate severity, beyond the issue of the Ibar River, which Serbia plans to divert in order to martyr Kosovo. The even more revolting aspect, in my opinion, is when Belgrade tells us, through its Foreign Minister, that Albania should keep its mouth shut, since this river does not pass through its territory. And if Albania dares and speaks, it, according to Belgrade, proves in this way that it is blowing away the dream of Greater Albania.

Surreal! But even more surreal is when we do not encounter any retaliatory statements from politicians in Albania these days, starting with the Prime Minister, to remind Serbia of this elementary truth: that it authorizes itself, and quite rightly, to worry about what happens to Serbs everywhere in the Balkans, from Kosovo to Montenegro to those in Bosnia and North Macedonia.

While Tirana, Belgrade, shamelessly, denies it the right to exercise this elementary right, for Albania to be concerned about what happens to Albanians outside its borders. Moreover, there are many Albanians living in Kosovo with Albanian passports, just as there are many Serbs in Montenegro who also have Serbian passports.

Another example: isn't Greece, an EU country, worried day and night not only about what happens to the Greek minority in Albania, but also to the Greek-speaking Cypriots? If Turkey were to impose a naval or air blockade on Nicosia to hinder its transport, Greece would first react very harshly and more than any other country, because it is about Greek-speaking citizens whom it protects above all else.

And this is exactly how Greece reacted in support of Nicosia in the conflicting issue, when Turkey sought to occupy the maritime zones with hydrocarbons. No one was heard to say: “Why is Greece poking its nose in?”, because it is precisely Greeks who live in Greek Cyprus.

So, why does our political class allow Belgrade to tell Tirana to shut up, when Serbia is preparing to block water supplies to Kosovo, that is, to the Albanian majority that lives there?

Therefore, there is no need or place for unnecessary justifications from Edi Rama, whether or not we are showing ourselves to be "Albanian-Romanians" by criticizing Serbia for the horror it is preparing to cook up for Kosovo Albanians with the water issue.

It must be said openly, openly, and without the slightest complex that Albania vigorously protects the rights of all those with an Albanian identity, wherever they are, just as every other country in the world does towards communities with which they share the same ethnic, linguistic, historical, and cultural identity.

Serbia can never ask Albania not to do what Serbia itself does for Serbs abroad.

But even if he asks us to be silent, who cares?
