The father of the 21-year-old who claims to have been sexually harassed by the surgeon N. Nunka in Korça, now arrested by the police, has recounted the moments experienced by his family, seeking justice for his daughter. According to him, it all started after the family had come from Germany for a vacation in Albania and the daughter showed health problems.
"I filed a complaint last night about my daughter for sexual harassment. We had been coming from Germany for two weeks. The girl was vomiting and had stomach pain. After tests at the hospital, the doctors said she had appendicitis and she underwent surgery," he said.
The father claims that after the surgical intervention, doctor Niko Nunka committed inappropriate acts against the daughter during treatment.
"The girl told me that the doctor put his hands on her, applied cream and even tried to kiss her. He even grabbed her face. When he put the cream on her, he told my mother not to look that way," he stated.
According to the father, the girl had not spoken up earlier for fear of causing conflict. "She told me it was a recurring incident, but she didn't tell me because she was worried I wouldn't make a fuss. It was only on the last day that I found out what had happened and I immediately called the police," he said.
He also accused the health system, claiming that he had paid cash for the girl's treatment. "I'm saying openly that I also gave money to the doctor. I demand justice and that he receive the maximum sentence. I have been told that there have been other cases," said the young woman's father. The 21-year-old is currently at home and, according to her family, is in a serious psychological state after the incident. The father stated that he will not leave Albania until the case is resolved and warned that he will pursue legal avenues abroad.
