Activist Ilir Xhemalaj, who spoke at the protest held in Tirana, called for the protection of the national interest, while urging the authorities to act against Prime Minister Edi Rama.

He further stated that he had received messages from Police Academy students, claiming that they had been poisoned twice within two months.

"There are moments in the history of a nation when the question is not who the government is but who we are and what Albania we will leave to the generations. Today we risk the connection we have with the land, which we inherited and which was washed with blood. Today we have an obligation to preserve it for our grandchildren and children. They talk about laws, procedures and investments, but if the Albanian land does not remain in the hands of Albanians, what will be left of us. Our nation has survived the invasions and did not abandon the Homeland. We do not measure the Homeland by square meters but by the love we have for it and the willingness to fight for it. Long live Albania!
"Today I received messages from students of the Police Academy who have been poisoned twice within 2 months. This police force cannot protect its students, today they make the decision to arrest Rama," he said.
