Jakup Krasniqi's daughter, Gresë Krasniqi, has reacted after the decision of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, through which her father was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
In the reaction published on social media, Gresë Krasniqi described the decision as unfair and expressed her belief in the innocence of her father and co-accused Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selimi.
"Dear citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, today, in the city of justice, the greatest injustice of this century occurred," she wrote.
She has criticized the court's decision, claiming that the trial and verdict are politically motivated. According to her, the decision also damages the image of the Kosovo Liberation Army and the way that historical period is presented to the public.
Gresë Krasniqi also spoke about the four accused, saying that during the war in Kosovo they had taken up arms to protect their families and the population from Serbian forces.
In her reaction, she also mentioned former Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, using his case as part of her criticism of the Specialist Chambers' decision.
"I live and will die with my full conviction in the innocence and sincerity of my father, Hashim, Kadri, and Rexha," she declared.
At the end of the reaction, Jakup Krasniqi's daughter announced that the decision will not stop them in their efforts for justice.
"Pride remains. Truth remains. We will continue the fight for freedom and justice!", concluded Gresë Krasniqi.
