The Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, invited to the studio of the show "Studio24" in News24, has reacted sharply to the latest developments regarding the Balluku case. His statements come at a time when the MP has been suspended from her duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister, while SPAK continues the procedures for requesting her arrest in the Parliament.
According to Noka, the current situation is evidence of a deep moral and ethical degradation within the government, where, according to him, any sense of political responsibility has been lost.
"This government has lost all moral and ethical norms and has been stripped of any sense of responsibility. It does not happen in a democratic government that leaders are so disconnected from moral norms," Noka said.
He emphasized that in democratic countries of Europe, resignation is a normal act of responsibility, even when the responsibility is related to the actions of subordinates.
"In every country in Europe, for a subordinate's responsibility, a leader resigns morally. Here we only see a scramble for power and a chair," declared the DP's secretary general.
Noka accused the majority of having turned power into an end in itself, losing, according to him, the mission to serve citizens and the public interest.
"These people have enjoyed power so much that they have bastardized every moral and norm. For them, power is loot, not a responsibility or obligation to citizens," he said.
Further, Noka accused Prime Minister Edi Rama and the majority of using illegal mechanisms to stay in power, citing vote buying and blackmail.
"It must be understood why in Albania Rama and his power gang buy and blackmail votes and use every mechanism to stay in power," he said.
According to Noka, the moral degradation of the power structure is also being reflected in other state institutions, bringing serious consequences for society and democracy.
"This moral and social degradation is being imposed on every segment of the state and is bringing about the destabilization of society and the country. Democracy exists only on paper. In this country, democracy has given up its soul and autocracy is being installed," Noka concluded.
