The residents of Memaliaj have protested against the changes proposed by the Socialist Party within the framework of the Territorial Reform, which envisage the merger of this municipality with the Municipality of Tepelena.
Citizens are speaking out against this initiative, arguing that the merger of municipalities will bring increased costs and greater difficulties for residents, due to the wide territorial extent of the area.
According to them, the removal of local services and the concentration of administration in another center will negatively affect citizens, especially residents of more remote areas.
Protesters demand that the Memaliaj Municipality continue to function as a separate unit of local government, opposing any change that, according to them, violates citizens' access to public services.
