The Chairman of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted regarding the audio recording where, according to him, businessman Ron Yeffet is heard discussing an arms trafficking plan and how to avoid the American Embassy.
Bardhi accuses Prime Minister Edi Rama of being silent about the wiretapping for two days, while raising questions about the relationship between the government and the businessman.
According to Bardhi, the audiotape discusses the bringing of weapons from Africa, their packaging in Albania and their shipment to various countries around the world.
REACTION OF THE CHAIRMAN OF THE PARLIAMENTARY GROUP OF THE DP, GAZMENT BARDHI
Whenever there is a scandal that directly involves him, Edi Rama remains silent. For two days now, he has been silent about the audiotaped recording in which his friend, Ron Yeffet, speaks as if chosen by the government to do its bad deeds. In the audiotaped recording, Ron Yeffet discusses the plan to bring weapons from Africa, from the conflict zone, to be packaged in Albania and sent around the world, but Edi Rama remains silent. He remains silent even after his friend's plan to deceive the American Embassy has been heard crystal clear.
Edi Rama is not just keeping quiet about a friend. He gave Ron Yeffet the arms industry and made him a partner in the state-owned Kayo company, created specifically for this business. In just 8 months, the company of the prime minister's friend, a business partner with the government, has benefited from 26 million euros of public money. That should have been enough for the prime minister not to keep quiet, but to tell Albanians and international partners what arms deals, for which the US should have been avoided, his friend has entered.
What authorization does Ron Jefeti have to act on behalf of Albania and who is responsible for the agreements he has made? And, if he does not have state authorization to do the government's bad deeds in arms affairs, why does he still have a contract that increases him and Edi Rama does not demand its immediate cancellation? After the seizure of the audiotap on Syri TV, SPAK must QUICKLY investigate this scandal about which the Prime Minister is silent, but which risks blowing up important interests of Albania. It is SPAK's obligation not to drag out this issue like any other file involving Rama, his brother or anyone who endangers his power.
