The Chairman of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has fiercely responded in the Assembly to Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding the law on judges and prosecutors, accusing him of designing a private state. Bardhi reminded Rama that, in 2016, he boasted that judges and prosecutors would have higher salaries than his, as he had designed the justice reform as a whip against the opposition.
But today, Bardhi said, when judges and prosecutors have been knocking on his door about major corruption cases, the prime minister is retaliating by not paying them their salaries.
STATEMENT OF GAZMENT BARDHIT:
Edi Rama conceives the state as a private state. You do not respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court, because you treat its decisions as if they were part of your humor. If you did not like them, you do not implement them. In 2016, you were enthusiastic about judges and prosecutors having the highest possible salary, because you projected the justice reform as a whip against the opposition. But, as soon as the prosecutors and judges knocked on your door, first at Belinda's and, most likely, very soon at yours too, you said: Wait! How did I make the mistake of treating them with a higher salary than mine?
How can it be that judges and prosecutors, whose salaries were significantly increased thanks to your generosity in 2016, dare to knock on the Parliament without my permission to demand the removal of my deputy's mandate? How can judges and prosecutors suspend my deputy? I have your salaries in my hands! I increased them, I reduced them!
You were very enthusiastic then, because you thought that you were doing the justice reform only to hit the opposition. You didn't think that you wouldn't be able to control it, because for you it is unthinkable not to control everything. You are used to controlling every tender in the Republic of Albania. You talk about state-building! With whom will you build the state? With Ron Yefet, who speaks on behalf of the entire state, even though he is an anonymous foreign citizen? The only connection is that he shares the money with you.
