Endrit Shabani was elected with 85 votes in favor of the People's Advocate. The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in his meeting with citizens and supporters in Elbasan, considered the granting of signatures a mistake, describing Shabani as Edi Rama's lawyer.
"It was a mistake, I admit it and you are concerned. The mistake was with the signatures of Endri Shabani, Edi Rama's lawyer, and I apologize. Those signatures were given during the period when there was support for our Tirana candidate and those signatures were immediately withdrawn, each of the MPs removed those signatures immediately," Berisha said.
