The first four days of August have been accompanied by a high number of road accidents on several roads in the country, causing fatalities and dozens of injured people.
According to data from reported events, several people lost their lives during this period, while many others were injured and sent for treatment to regional hospitals and the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
One of the tragic cases was that of Aleks Uka, who passed away at the Trauma Hospital after being seriously injured in an accident on the Fushë Arrëz–Bajram Curri road segment, in the village of Porav.
Another victim was registered on the Lezhë-Milot axis, where a 50-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle in the evening hours.
In Ksamil, a fatal accident claimed the life of 20-year-old Antonio Mateli, a van driver, who died while being transported to the hospital as a result of his injuries.
Meanwhile, accidents with injured people have been recorded in several other areas of the country. On the Elbasan-Peqin axis, in the Murras area, three vehicles collided with each other, leaving five people injured.
On the Fier-Lushnjë axis, near the village of Vajkan, two vehicles collided and ended up in the side canal of the road. Four people were injured in the collision, who were transported to the Fier Regional Hospital.
Other accidents were also reported at the entrance to Stan-Karbunara on the Lushnje-Berat axis, where a 28-year-old woman was injured after the vehicle she was traveling in collided with the bridge barriers and ended up overturned.
Also, on the Peqin-Elbasan axis and on the Fier-Patos road, collisions between vehicles were recorded, where several people suffered injuries and received medical assistance.
The balance of the first four days of August shows a worrying situation on the country's roads, with several fatalities and a considerable number of injuries as a result of car accidents.
