Banka Kombëtare Tregtare has been named “Best Bank in Albania” at the prestigious Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, recognizing the Bank’s strong financial performance, continuous innovation and positive impact on customers across Albania. This is the eighth time that BKT has been recognized by Euromoney with the “Best Bank in Albania” award.
For more than 30 years, the Euromoney Awards for Excellence have recognized financial institutions that set global standards in performance, innovation and customer service. Winners are selected through a structured research and comparative process, based on measurable indicators, detailed applications and the assessment of institutions against their peers.
Euromoney described 2025 as a particularly successful year for BKT, during which the Bank combined strong financial growth with innovation oriented towards the individual and business banking segments.
BKT's total assets reached USD 6.7 billion at the end of 2025, marking an increase of 23% compared to 2024, while deposits increased by 20% year-on-year, reaching USD 5.5 billion. This increase further strengthened the Bank's funding base and lending capacity. BKT also recorded a standalone profit of USD 97.4 million and a return on equity of 23.8%.
The award was presented by Mr. Mehmet Usta, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BKT, Mr. Seyhan Pencablıgil, General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors of BKT, as well as Mr. Esad Kamil Çalık, representative of Çalık Holding.

BKT’s strong performance in 2025 was supported by continued innovation in retail and business banking. The bank expanded access to financing, introduced faster and more convenient digital services, and enabled customers to open accounts and complete documentation remotely. In the corporate banking segment, improvements in payment services and trade documentary credits encouraged wider use of digital channels, while international transfers recorded an annual growth of 39%, reinforcing BKT’s commitment to efficient, secure and customer-oriented banking services.
The Euromoney award reinforces BKT's position as one of the leading financial institutions in Albania and recognizes its ability to combine sustainable financial growth with practical innovation and quality customer service.
This assessment became even more significant with the announcement of BKT Kosovo as the "Best Bank in Kosovo", confirming BKT's commitment to high performance, continuous development and the provision of quality, customer-oriented banking services in both markets.
