Checks at the Penitentiary Institutions in Fier, Vlora and Peqin were carried out this Saturday. The checks come within the framework of strengthening security and discipline measures in penitentiary institutions. The General Director of Prisons, Mr. Adriatik Kupi, together with the Director of Prison Police, Senior Director Paulin Rajta, led today, on 09.05.2026, surprise checks at the Penitentiary Institutions in Fier, Vlora and Peqin.

The controls were carried out by the operational forces of the Prison Police Directorate, with a focus on identifying and seizing prohibited items within the institutions.

During the checks, communication equipment accessories that constitute a criminal offense, improvised cutting tools, as well as other prohibited and excess items were found and seized. The Internal Control Service of the Prison System was notified of the cases found for further procedural actions.
